Virtual EM was awarded a 9-month STTR Phase I contract by U.S. Navy based on its proposal titled “Efficient HF Transmit Antennas Utilizing Platform Coupling” submitted in response to Navy STTR Topic No. N12A-T015 titled “Energy Efficient HF Transmit Antennas”. Michigan State University will be the subcontractor on the effort and the team will demonstrate feasibility of developing a conformal antenna on medium-size UAVs for VHF communications.
