Virtual EM was awarded an STTR Phase I contract by U.S. Air Force for developing an RFID sensor for detection of Biological Warfare Agents (BWAs). The sensor will utilize aptamers designed to detect specific agents such as anthrax or small pox. University of Michigan is developing the sensor front-end, which will be integrated with Virtual EM’s RFID technology for stand off detection. Boeing Corporation will provide the oversight of the technology development and support for Phase II proposal preparation.
