Virtual EM Inc. has been awarded a continuation-in-parts as a follow-up to its fundamental patent on Airborne Antennas by the United States Patent Office (USPO) (Click here for more details on the patent.) This additional patent covers the same application for rotary wing aircraft, telescopic antennas for dynamic frequency tuning and Yagi-Uda arrangements for directionality (Click here for a video demonstration of the telescopic antenna invention.) The technology was funded by U.S. Navy through an STTR project and enables realization of radiators with near perfect efficiencies at the high end of the HF band on one meter long drones. Both linear and circular polarizations are supported. Operating frequency varies over the HF/VHF/UHF bands (3-3,000 MHz) and the instantaneous bandwidths of 15-30% are typical with near-perfect radiation efficiencies. USPO Application No: 16/582,400. Priority Date: May 7, 2018.
